Introduction

Hi everyone, we are senior biomedical engineering students at UCI, our group name is SiraMedical HOLOCUBE. Have you ever been curious about how do your heart or bones look like? Or what are their exact 3D dimensions?

 

However, Traditionally used 2D medical imaging techniques such as CT scan or MRI have limitations to show the structure of the corresponding organ.

 

We are collaborating with SiraMedical to develop software that generates 3D holograms from multiple CT and MRI scans. You only need our software and a Mergecube® to visualize organ structures.

 

Our software can help medical school students learn about anatomy and practice surgery. In addition, the software gives an advantage to surgeons by assisting them in knowing the 3D dimensions of organs. Our ultimate goal is to assist doctors and surgeons in the hospital to not only plan the surgeries but also help them to educate the patients about knowing how their surgeries would be done.
